About Us

After a very successful summer of tent meetings on Indian reserves in 1960, it was decided to start the Bible School. The location is on the south side of Echo Lake, in the beautiful Qu' Appelle Valley, one mile west of Fort Qu' Appelle, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The first term started in January, 1961, with 12 students.  J.W. Reid was the president, and Ronald Hooper was the principal. Other early board members were Roy McGillivray(from whom the land was purchased), Fred Sauer, Ernest Sauer, Harold Ollenberg, Charles Bigknife, and Maurice Fuller.

In 1963 the native childrens camp was started, and a month later the youth camp. These have been carried on annually, with many children and youth coming to know Christ.

In 1963 the Bible School bulletin "The Full Gospel Advance" began to be published. This booklet has helpful bible teaching, and advertises Gospel meetings in first nations and reserves and areas.

In 1965 Jack Borowko purchased some former army barracks that had been built in Regina during the second world war. They consist of three buildings that are 120 feet long each, and are joined together by central hallways. These were moved to the Bible School grounds in 1966.

In 1985 Raymond Gordon of Pasqua First Nation became president of the school and began major renovations in the school buildings. Some grants were obtained, and great improvements were made.

Many students have attended the school over the years. Many of these former students are now pastors, evangelists, and Gospel workers. They have come from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick, North Dakota, and South Dakota. These students represent many different tribes such as; Saulteaux, Cree, Assiniboine, Sioux, Ojibway, Dene, Blackfoot, Blood, and Maliseet.

The Bible School terms are held for six months every winter. There is a three month term in September, October and November, and another one in February, March, and April. Each three month term is in two semesters, with new subjects in each semester.

The Bible School owns a Gospel tent which is used for evangelism in about 10 different tent meetings each summer in native communities.
